This Privacy Policy explains how RoofConvert (“RoofConvert,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use roofconvert.app and our PDF-to-ESX/Symbility conversion service (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name and email address and manages your login credentials on our behalf.
  • Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number; we receive limited billing details and a customer/subscription identifier needed to manage your plan.
  • Files you upload. The roof measurement PDFs you submit, and the ESX/XML files generated from them, are processed to deliver the Service.
  • Usage data. Basic technical and usage information such as the number of conversions you've used, plan status, and standard server logs.
  • Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep your name, email, and message so we can respond and provide support.

How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the conversion Service.
  • To authenticate your account and enforce plan limits and credits.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To respond to your support requests and communicate about your account.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to operate RoofConvert. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service:

  • Clerk — user authentication and account management.
  • Stripe — payment processing and billing.
  • Supabase — database and storage for account and usage data.
  • Anthropic — AI processing used to read and convert your uploaded PDFs.
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

How we handle your uploaded files

Your roof measurement PDFs are used solely to generate the ESX and Symbility XML output you request. We do not sell your files or use the contents of your uploads to train AI models. Files and generated outputs are retained only as long as needed to provide the Service and your conversion history; you may contact us to request deletion of your files.

Data retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as required to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function, including keeping you signed in and securing sessions. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.

Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, and rely on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

RoofConvert is a business tool intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed there and in other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
